Independent Inspection
Hire a local mobile inspector in the seller's city ($200-350). Companies like RACV and NRMA offer inspection services nationally. Never skip this step.
Transport Options
Drive it home: Cheapest option but adds kilometres. Budget for fuel, accommodation, and a one-way flight. You also get to test the vehicle thoroughly.
Car transport: $600-1,500 from Sydney/Melbourne to Perth (7-10 business days). Open carrier is cheapest; enclosed transport protects against road debris.
Registration Transfer
Interstate vehicles must be re-registered in WA. This requires a vehicle identity inspection at a WA vehicle examination centre, proof of purchase, and payment of WA stamp duty.
